Who I am

I am a Michigander from a small town: I was born and raised in Lowell, MI. I have loved South Haven since I started coming here in the 80’s when attending Kalamazoo College.  I biked here before the Kal-Haven Trail existed after starting work as a research chemist at The Upjohn Company.  My husband, Jay Campbell, and I came here often on day trips and extended vacations.  A wedding gift was a stay at The Last Resort; we traveled by bike on the Kal-Haven Trail.  Our love of South Haven was so absolute that we ended up buying a house in 2019, and moving here in 2020.  We love the abundant outdoor activities, and I especially love spending many hours cultivating my pollinator gardens.  This time of year, they’re abundant with monarch butterflies, bees and hummingbirds.

I retired in 2021 from Pfizer where I was a patent attorney for over 20 years.  Since retirement, I have become very active in South Haven, utilizing my legal background and love of science.  I listen, do my due diligence, pursue a solution with a focus on what is best for our local community, and will change course if facts warrant.  In 2023, I was elected as the Ward 3 City Councilmember.
