As Mayor, I will strive for a civil process to consider opposing interests
and efficiently reach a balanced outcome.

I am an advocate for the Community as a whole and am passionate about preserving our Community's charm while helping it flourish.
Since joining the City Council in January 2024 to represent Ward 3, I have worked tirelessly to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of our Community:
-
Advocated for short-term rental ordinance reform to respect rights of all property owners.
-
Advocated for changes to the draft zoning ordinance from the recodification committee to maintain key aspects of zoning in residential areas, like maintaining the current lot coverage where proposed committee changes would have allowed larger homes.
-
Ensured Ward 3 residents were aware of matters affecting them.
-
Engage the Community for input to update the City's Master Plan.
-
Strive for uniform enforcement of our local, county, and State laws.

How I came to live in South Haven:

I am a Michigander from a small town. I was born and raised in Lowell, MI. I have loved South Haven since I started coming here in the 80’s when attending Kalamazoo College. I biked here before the Kal-Haven Trail existed after starting work as a research chemist at The Upjohn Company. My husband, Jay Campbell, and I came here often on day trips and extended vacations. A wedding gift was a stay at The Last Resort; we traveled by bike on the Kal-Haven Trail. Our love of South Haven was so absolute that we ended up buying a house in 2019, and moved here in 2020. We love the abundant outdoor activities. I especially love cultivating my pollinator gardens to welcome bees, butterflies, and birds.
I retired in 2021 from Pfizer where I was a patent attorney for over 20 years. Since retirement, I have become very active in South Haven, utilizing my legal background and love of science. I listen, do my due diligence, and pursue a solution with a focus on what is best for our local community. I will change course if facts warrant. I have served on the Planning Commission and South Haven Regional Airport Authority since being seated in January 2024.
